General aim: promote the interaction of migrant women with the social fabric, giving information and helping in the use of local services; improve their awareness about their rights and about their capabilities, also in order to promote the integration of foreign families; stimulate the collaboration among different public and private institutions, voluntary associations and private social associations, in order overcome the difficulties of information, orientation and access to the local health services (difficulties due to language, logistical, time and organizational problems). Specific target: setting in motion of a mobile info point (“Pink Point” van) and of a front office (“Centre for World's Women”) for helping and orienting to local services and for social mediation.
ACS “Pink Point” activity (approaching and orienting these women through the mobile office), get into the program “Integrazione Sociale e Scolastica” (social and school integration) promoted by the “Mayors’ Conference” and ULSS 16. This program is divided into 2 intervention areas: social and school integration for young immigrants and information for migrant women. ACS worked in the second area.
Through the mobile info point, the activity helps in spreading among women information about local services, in creating opportunities for meeting and helping on the road and in gathering places.
Through the front office and through the activities of listening, welcome and orienting to services, it was possible to identify personalized paths for different women. In this way women can find answers to their needs (help in case of uneasiness and of domestic violence or in job search and health care).
Furthermore, were initiated conditions for networking existing services and, through an activity of research and common processing, for sharing data.
